New name for Valley Ridge

Valley Ridge: new name, new team for Snoasis, as major UK leisure destination gears up to deliver its £500m investment for Suffolk

The 284-acre Snoasis site, close to Great Blakenham, took a step forward today with the announcement of a new name and new team to deliver the £500 million leisure-destination.

The new name is Valley Ridge, which will become the UK’s first-of-its-kind resort and next premium staycation resort offering all year-round winter and water sports alongside best-in-class leisure and hotel facilities.

The new team includes two new Board advisers: the chief executive of TGI Fridays, Robert B Cook, who formerly led the Malmaison hotels group, De Vere Hotels and Virgin Active; and David Church, who brings City, property and finance expertise.

The resort will offer lodges, sports and retail facilities, a snow dome housing a range of winter sports, a water park, spa, cinema, conference and restaurant facilities and one of the largest indoor ski slopes in the UK.

William Harford, for Valley Ridge said “We will be delivering local jobs and local investment that will benefit the whole of Suffolk, in a way that pays heed to the needs of the environment and local people. The pandemic has increased the staycation market, and Suffolk is a great county for such a popular tourist attraction.  Together, the new name and team can only increase confidence in the delivery of the project.  We’re looking forward to welcoming you all to Valley Ridge Great Blakenham.”
