Mid Suffolk District Council object to Viridor ‘in the strongest possible terms’

In response to a release from Mid Suffolk District Council calling on the Government to determine the fate of a £500m tourist resort by ruling on the future of Valley Ridge:

Simon Padgett, spokesman for Valley Ridge said:

We're really pleased to see that Mid Suffolk District Council is calling for the refusal of the Viridor application.

We agree that the huge investment (jobs for £2,100 people and nearly £50m added to the local economy every year) from the new resort in the local economy is crucial.

We agree with the council that the new Valley Ridge family-friendly premium staycation resort is incompatible with the Viridor landfill application.

We call upon all parties including Suffolk County Council and the Government to ensure that the Viridor landfill application is refused.
